I strongly feel the black children needs more respect. Also I feel that they need more respect for adults. Foremost you shouldn’t have to ask for respect to get respect. If I treat you with respect then you should treat me with respect. On account of this black children need to show the most respect to others because some white children talk down to us. Even though I am not the most respectful person but I do have respect for everyone. In some cases you maybe in a situation and you may come off disrespectful but in your heart you know any other day you are respectful. Last of all respect should be the main thing that people should have.

epic poem
Tiera McCoy
Im a hero
I do everything I can to help the community
The community shouldn’t have to worry about violence it should be united in unity
Sometimes I wish I can save the world and everybody can be safe
You can’t save the world especially if you don’t have faith
I try to save the world by doing one thing at a time
All you really need is a good head on your shoulders that has the right mind
I can’t be a hero to just anyone because some people are afraid of change
But once they notice how good it can be then they will always remember my name
Im a hero

The community shouldn’t have to worry about violence it should be united in unity
Sometimes I wish I can save the world and everybody can be safe

School Year
This school year has been great
But it hasn’t been a piece of cake
I strived to do my best
But it always wasn’t a success
I been through some challenges but I made it through
But I may have not made it through if it wasn’t for you
I done all I can do
And all I have to say is thank you

autobiography
My name is Tiera Monique McCoy. I was born July 31, 1993 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I attend New Media Tech charter school. My mother name is Sherri McCoy and my father name is Jerry Ward. I have one brother and his name is Tyrell McCoy. I have other brothers and sisters on my father's side.
I live with both my mother and my father. I was in a dance class from 3rd to 4th grade. I was always a good grade in elementary school but when i started middle school that's when everything changed. All types of drama started and i was always caught up in it. Being in middle school i notice that some girls have alot of drama. I struggled with to do my best and everything and it gets tough but
I had alot of friends in middle school but I had a hard time choosing who was real and who was fake and i had to learn the hard way. I had friends that used me,lied to me, and betrayed me.But I respect them for that because if they would have never did that to me i would have never known how to deal with it today. I notice that they are the same people whose going to need me some day. But other than that middle school was fun.
High school so far is okay. But in the beginning all I did was complain about the building we are in and how unorganized the school is.But now I like it and i will like to attend that school for another year. I learned new things in different subjects. I made friends with some teachers and made some new friends.
To me life is great even if you have to go through some hardship. Some of my friends talk to me when they have hardships because I help them get through it. I struggled to do my best in everything and it gets tough sometimes but i keep on going.I think everyone should live life to the fullest no matter what happens. Life is too short to be stressed or depressed. My goals for the future is to go to college, have a good paying job, have my own house, and be independent.

Lactic acid bacteria is one of the oldest forms of biopreservation practiced by mankind. One important attribute of many LAB is their ability to produce antimicrobial compounds called bacteriocins. In recent years interest in these compounds has grown substantially due to their potential usefulness as natural substitute for chemical food preservatives in the production of foods with enhanced shelf life. the ability to produce and store large quantities of food is the single most important development permitting the formation of civilization. the dairy industry is in the genetic modification of lactic acid bacteria and it is commonly used as starter cultures in production of fermented dairy product.

The title of my story is Friends Over Boys. The characters in the story is Monique she is one of the main characters. Keisha is the other main character and is Monique’s best friend and she is boy crazy. The boy that Keisha likes name is Michael. He has everything a girl wants. The last character is Chris. He’s the boy that Monique likes. Chris and Michael was cousins.
The problem is in this story is that two best friends end up not liking each other when the boys that they like become their boyfriends. Keisha disliked Monique because she went to the movies with her boyfriend and didn’t tell her. Monique doesn’t care because she was making a big deal out of nothing. The boys seem like they can care less they just want some love and action between the two girls.
Monique and Keisha was at their locker at school getting their books for their next class. When they were on there way out Keisha ran into a boy named Michael. It was like love at first sight but little did she know that he was a playa on the low. They talked for a minute and gave each other their number then he went to class. She ran up to Monique with a big smile on her face and she asked her did she see him. Monique nodded. Keisha talked about him for a minute then they went their own ways to class.
It was the end of the day and Keisha and Monique was on the bus to go home. They was talking about Michael when him and some boy walked on the bus. Monique eyes lit up at the sight of the boy with Michael day were coming straight towards them. Keisha introduced Monique to Michael and Michael introduced both of them to his cousin Chris. Chris smile at Monique and began to talk to her while Michael talked to Keisha. They exchanged numbers and then Monique and Keisha got off the bus because it was their stop…to be continued

1.How does assimilationism become important?
I think it becomes important when you start to compare yourself to different racial or cultural groups. In The Raisin of the Sun Beneatha always had something to say about assimilationism.
2. Discuss the title of the play. How does it relate to the dreams of each of the characters? The title of the play relates to Walter because he showed how he grew out of trying to rich and accept his life the way it is. For Ruth the title relates to her because she thought that having another child will be burden on her and her husband but at the end she decided to keep it. I feel that Lena really didn’t have anything to do with the title I just know that she basically took care of the raisin in the sun. Beneatha had something to do with the title because she kept changing her major in college but I think that she settled down for just being a doctor.
3. Think about the role of money in the play. How does it affect different characters? It affects Walter because he wanted to be rich. It affected Beneatha because she’s in college. It affects Ruth because she is pregnant and it affects Lena because she received a check from her husband’s life insurance and she does know what to do with the money.

Honesty
Tiera McCoy
Communication
What honesty means to me is someone who is true to each other and tells the true no matter what. If someone was to get in trouble for someone else doings then the person who did it they should step up to the plate and tell them that it was their fault that is honesty to me. Honesty is when you keep it real with someone instead of not making up something fake. If someone is honest they are being fair to someone. Being honest is basically being truthful with one another.
Moral uprightness is another word for honesty. I feel that everyone should be honest because it makes life easier. If you aren’t honest you may have to tell lie after lie to cover up the first lie then you just become a liar. But if you are honest at the beginning then you won’t get in as much trouble because eventually you are going to get caught in your lie. So honestly is basically the way you should live.
When you use honestly you are being sincerity. You are not being sincere just to yourself but to the people around you. Also you are showing that you have respect for the people around you. Honesty is when people are truth worthy to others. If you did something that hurt your friend you should tell them the true because in your friend's heart they feel that you are truth worthy.
Candor is a part of honesty. Candor means honesty or directness whether it is refreshing or distasteful. In my words candor is basically saying you should be honesty even if its a good thing or a bad. You may upset someone but at least you know that you were honest. It is better for you to get whatever you have on your chest off of your chest because you may feel relieved.
In closing I think that you should think twice before you lie because you maybe the cause of someone's death. Honesty is what keeps friends and dishonesty is what makes you lose friends. If you want to keep a true friendship stay honest with each other no matter what. Honesty makes life better in many ways. That all I have to say about honesty. Honesty can be bad if you being honest can really upset someone.

Madame C.J. Walker
By: Tiera McCoy, L’nette Patterson,
& James Randall
Madame C.J. Walker birth name was Sarah Breedlove. She was born in Delta, Louisiana on December 23, 1867. She was born into a former slave family. Her parents name was Owen and Minerva Breedlove. She had four brothers and one sister. Her parents were slaves. Madame C.J. Walker was seven years old when she became an orphan because her parents’ died because of yellow fever. When she was ten years old her and her sister moved across the river to Vicksburg and obtained work as a maid.
When she was fourteen she got married to Moses McWilliams to get away from her sister’s abusive husband.
Her and her husband had a baby together. Her name was Lelia Walker. When Lelia was two Moses McWilliams died. Madame C.J. Walker got married a second time on August 11, 1894 to John Davis but it failed and ended in 1903. She married a third time in January,1906 to Charles Joseph Walker which was a newspaper sales agent and they divorced around 1910.
Her accomplishments were that she was an entrepreneur and she built her company developing hair products for black women. She said that she built her company on an actual dream where a black man appeared to her and gave her a formula for curing baldness. She was confronted with that idea and that she was trying to conform black women’s hair to whites. She started to stress because she thought that her products were simply an attempt to help black women take proper care of their hair and promote its growth. She died on May 25,1919 in New York, New York. Everyone believes that she invented the straightening comb but she didn’t.

Inventions
My part of the project is based on inventions. There were a lot of inventions in the 1950s. In 1951,Charles Ginsburg invented the first videotape recorder. He was born in San Francisco, California on July 27,1920. Charles Ginsburg had made a large contribution to technology when it came down to his inventions and development of video magnetic tape recording for quick playback.
In 1940, he worked as a sound technician and a studio and transmitter engineer even though he began his job as a pre-med student and also studied animal husbandry. In 1948, he graduated from San Jose State College with a B.A. In 1952, he joined the Ampex Corporation where he would make his mark in the world of television. Charles Ginsburg changed television broadcasting by developing a system which used a rapidly rotating recording head to apply high frequency signals onto a reel of magnetic tape. That invention made possible instant replay. In 1957, Charles Ginsburg won an Emmy for his outstanding contribution of the VTR or Video Tape Recorder. He was also put on the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 1990 for leading the research team at Ampex Corporation in developing his video tape recorder. He died April 9,1992 in Eugene, Oregon.
Another inventions was the Barbie doll in 1959. The inventor name was Ruth Handler. Barbie first introduced to the world at the American Toy Fair in New York City. Ruth Handler was born on November 4,1916 in Denver, Colorado. Her birth name was Ruth Mosko. She was an businesswomen and the president of the toy manufacturer Mattel, Inc.
Her occupation was a Entrepreneur, inventor, and also the president of Mattel, Inc. She was Jewish. Her husband name is Elliott Handler and her child name was Barbara Kenneth. Ruth Handler started making a doll when her daughter preferred playing with her infant paper dolls and gave them adult roles. She wanted to make a plastic doll with adult features but her husband and his business partner thought that it wouldn’t sell.
Ruth Handler went to a European trip and she saw a German doll in a Swiss shop and brought it. When she came back home she started work on the design of the doll again and named it Barbie after her daughter. Barbie dolls became an instant success. Later they added a boyfriend for Barbie named Ken and others friends and family for Barbie’s world. Ruth fought breast cancer and undergoing a mastectomy. In 1970, she surveyed the market for a suitable prosthetic breast. When she became disappointed in the option available so she set about designing a replacement breast that was more similar to a natural one. She died April 27,2002 in Los Angeles, California because of complications of surgery for colon cancer at the age of eighty-five.

1950s outline
My group haven't really accomplished a lot. We never made our movie maker because no one wants to help us. All of us did our interviews and wrote our first five page paper but nothing more. Every time we try to work on our movie maker we never have enough time. If we wanted to present on expedition night we couldn't because we are not prepared. All we basically need is our final draft but other then that we are done everything else.
